About the Book
Wayfarer is the story of Rani, a young woman who rebels against her lot as the clan’s next shaman, a servant of the Goddess who will rule her life. To escape this fate she leaves her home in the Grass, with its clan roots and adherence to old traditions, to become a wayfarer one who travels with the trade caravans across the vast reaches of her home continent.
But fate, as her grandfather (the current shaman) warns her, is not easily outrun. Rani’s wayfaring adventures end when plague strikes the land, followed by the discovery of a martial country’s general who is intent on fomenting war.
Driven by the Goddess’s demands, Rani must plunge herself and her friends into a dangerous maelstrom of action, ambush, capture and unforgiving winter conditions, aided by her uncanny bond with animals and by Hoke, a priest of the Lady, in order to thwart the general’s schemes, while finally coming to accept the role to which destiny has called her.
You can flee, granddaughter, but you cannot outrun Epona.

About the Author
I have been writing since I was 9, never wanted to do anything else — apart from read.
As a nomadic family my siblings and I grew up in the bush after attending various primary schools. We worked as drovers and station hands until we bought our own property in the Queensland Gulf Country. I then began studying to pass my Senior exam, which led me to completing an Arts degree by Distance Education with the University of Queensland.
I have published 14 books with Penguin Random House and commenced writing fantasy in 2018. Wayfarer is the fourth novel set in the imaginary world of the Grass and its neighbours.
I love words and stories. I think all writers must if they are to hold their readers’ attention.
